Australian Food that can be made at Home

These meals will help you get a little taste of Australia. We are bringing you Breakfast, Dinner, and Dessert to fill your day with some tasty foods.  Meat and organic foods are a huge part of Australian cuisine. There are hints of British still about especially with meat pies (look below) and Fish & Chips.  Another big part of Australian Cuisine is Bushfood which is anything they can catch or find. Makes for great conversation food for sure.

Pikelets are basically mini pancakes used for tea-time. Add some of your favorite jam for some flavor to take them up a notch. Tea-time is where you still get a bit of British. They like to make light foods that have great flavor.

Aussie Beef and Bacon Pies are a traditional football food in Australia. Perfect for picnics, parties and game day eats.  These are also coming from the British traditions still seen today. Meat Pies are a major food with many combinations.

Pavlova with Cream & Passionfruit is the perfect Australian dessert that is light and fluffy. This post gives you tips on how to make it perfect every time. We love the added fruit on top to give it more flavor.

Australia is a huge Dairy and Wine producer. So for drinks, don’t worry they have you covered. We suggest some Coffee with a hit of dairy as well as a great bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. So we know not all of you like wine, so there are some great beer options to try such as Fosters Lager.

Now, you can make this all at home, but who wouldn’t want to go to Australia to try it first hand? Let me tell you I knew I would. Let us know what are your favorite Australian foods to eat.

I’m an Aussie too and these are all delicious foods. You can’t go past a good pavlova or pie with flaky pastry!

OK, I’ve been obsessed with pavlova because Liane Moriarty always talks about them in her books!
